PGL extends its activities - Wednesday, October 06, 2004 at 10:16

PGL, fondly known to generations of schoolchildren as ‘Parents Get Lost’, is making a bid for the grown-ups team-building market.

For those who don’t know, PGL have been running a range of activity holiday for children of school age for almost 50 in the UK and France. PGL have recently taken over 3D Education and Adventure – a leading UK adventure-based tour operator. They can now offer corporate team-building and conference packages at four venues.

The UK centres are in Shropshire, Surrey and Perthshire. Chateau de Grande Romaine, the only French-based property, is just 20 miles north of Paris. All the centres are residential, have extensive grounds and well-equipped meeting facilities.

A structured range of adventure activities and watersports is available at all the sites, either as a ‘bolt-on’ to an existing programme or as a specific team-building exercise. Sample activities includes: archery, challenge courses, climbing wall, fencing, go–karting, kayaking, low-level ropes course, open canoeing, orienteering, quad biking, raft building, rifle shooting, swimming and the trapeze.

Accommodation is predominantly in lodges or dormitories. It isn’t 4 star but then neither are the rates. However the accommodation is comfortable and it is en-suite. PGL boast ‘outstanding value for money’. Their flexible pricing policy allows either full board or accommodation with catering.
