Who says the sun never shines in Manchester. - Wednesday, October 06, 2004 at 10:24

We have been taken to task by a casual browser of our website who claims that every picture of a Manchester hotel on our site is taken against blue, cloudless skies and hence cannot possible be a true representation. “The photographs must have been air-brushed. They cannot possible be accurate – we all know the sun never shines in Manchester” is the damaging accusation.

We beg to differ. Meteorological evidence categorical shows that the sun shone on central Manchester for at least four hours on 27 April 2004. The professional photographic community in Manchester would have been well aware of this phenomenon, as it was forecast the previous day, and this forecast proved to be uncannily accurate.

We strongly object to any accusations made of tampering with the photographs. Furthermore, we emphatically deny the inference that we have mislead our readership by painting an unduly ‘rosy picture’ of Manchester.
