New owners of the 178-bedroom RE Hotel in London’s Shoreditch have published plans to totally refurbish the hotel and relaunch it as a Mama Shelter hotel.  

It will be the first Mama Shelter hotel to open in the UK.

Mama Shelter was launched in Paris nearly a decade ago. The hotel brand is aimed at the tech-savvy millennial generation.

Accordingly, Mama Shelter hotels offer large open communal spaces with a restaurant and bars plus features such as ping pong tables and photo/video booths for guest use.

Mama Shelter is now 35% owned by the Accor Group.
