Construction Work has started on the new £25million 'Graduate Centre’ at Queen Mary University's Mile End campus in East London. Facilities within the building will include a 200-seat glass sided lecture space, a dedicated foyer with café and a range of seminar / breakout spaces on other floors. The building will also feature unusual event space including an open plan reception space in a ‘floating’ glass box with outdoor terrace on the roof of the building, which can be used for drinks receptions and networking events.

The Graduate Centre is expected to be open in time for the start of the 2016 academic year.

The Graduate Centre is located adjacent to the art deco Great Hall at the western side of the Mile End campus. The Mile End campus has a hundred existing meeting rooms with on-campus accommodation available during the summer vacation and catering facilities with a maximum venue capacity of 770 delegates. The campus is located in Mile End Road between Mile End and Stepney Green tube stations.
