Chelsea Football Club is investigating plans to possibly extend their Stamford Bridge stadium. The club is looking to extend the ground from its current 41,798 capacity to 60,000.

Plans to move the club and build a new stadium at either Earl’s Court or Battersea Power station have proved to be unfeasible.

Redeveloping the historic Stamford Bridge could take up to three years to complete and result in the club relocating to another venue in the interim, such as Wembley or Twickenham.

The detailed proposals and how they will affect current non-match day events will be revealed at a Stamford Bridge exhibition running from June 30 to July 2.

Stamford Bridge currently has a range of event facilities with 24 function rooms and 60 syndicate rooms accommodating from two to 1,500 delegates plus the on-site Millennium and Copthorne Hotels at Stamford Bridge.
