The home of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra (CBSO) – CBSO Centre – reopened on 1st October 2014 following a £1.8million major redevelopment. CBSO Centre opened initially in 1998 and is the only purpose-built building in the UK to provide a permanent base for a symphony orchestra and its partners.

The redevelopment has enhanced the performance facilities with new acoustics, lighting and seating. It has also transformed the public areas to provide both formal and informal meeting and event space.

CBSO Centre provides a range of meeting facilities including a 300-seat fully flexible auditorium suitable for conferences, educational workshops, meetings, exhibitions and dinner dances.

The Main Hall has a fully flexible layout with natural daylight that can be blacked out and galleries at first and second floor landings. There are two additional smaller meeting rooms and three studio boardrooms seating between eight and 24 delegates – all fully equipped with the latest technology. Catering for any event is provided via a choice of recommended suppliers and ranges from canapés, breakfast or lunches to extensive banqueting menus.

CBSO Centre is located In Berkley Street just behind the Mailbox Building and a short walk from Birmingham New Street Station.
