National Football Museum Manchester
The National Football Museum will be opening spring 2012 in the Urbis Building alongside Victoria Station in the centre of Manchester. The Museum has relocated from its original site at Deepdale in Preston. Conference facilities at the National Football Museum will cater for up to 500 for a reception and 250 for a sit-down event.
Kudos, part of the Crown Group, has been awarded the contract to provide food and venue management services at the National Football Museum.
The Museum, spread across three floors of the Urbis Building, will house more than 140,000 objects, works of art and photographs about football, including providing a permanent home for its ‘Hall of Fame’. Other highlights will include a shirt from the world's first international match, played in 1872; the 1966 World Cup Final ball and the shirt worn by Maradona during the 1986 ‘Hand of God’ quarter final match between England and Argentina.
Urbis is currently closed for visitors. The opening date is to be announced very shortly.
