Park Regis Hotel in Birmingham

Auchinleck House

Last week we reported on plans to convert the largely empty Auchinleck House building at Five Ways in Birmingham into a four-star 300-bedroom Park Regis Hotel. The scheme is the brainchild of the StayWell Group, an Australian-based hotel operator. This development would be their first venture in Britain and Europe.

The scheme also includes redevelopment of the Five Ways Shopping Centre which faces Auchinleck House.  The development includes a major conference centre for up to around 1200 delegates with various break-out areas and exhibition space.

If plans are approved development work could start later this year with completion in 2014.
