The Times is reporting that the De Vere Group is expected to sell four of its hotels and one conference venue, using the funds generated to expand its chain of De Vere Village Hotels.
The four De Vere hotels up for sale are: the 173-bedroom De Vere Grand Harbour Hotel in Southampton; the 140-bedroom De Vere Royal Bath Hotel in Bournemouth; the 119-bedroom De Vere University Arms in Cambridge plus the 189-bedroom De Vere Village Daresbury Park hotel in Warrington. The 78-bedroom De Vere Barony Castle just south of Edinburgh is thought to be the conference venue which is on the market.
Up to eighteen brand new De Vere Village Hotels could emerge as a result of this move.
