Nottingham: University of Nottingham Hotel opens late 2012
A new 202-bedroom upmarket hotel is under construction at The University of Nottingham and due to open at the end of 2012. The £20million eco-friendly hotel is being built on University Park, adjacent to the East Midlands Conference Centre. It will be available for use by conference delegates, university visitors, local businesses and the general public.
Built to the highest environmental standards, the hotel will feature state-of-the-art technology to reduce carbon emissions. Solar photovoltaic panels and ground-sourced heat technology are incorporated, as well as a lower energy assisted-cooling ventilation system.
The hotel will include some executive-style rooms, meeting and conference space, a gym as well as a restaurant and bar. It will also feature a rooftop terrace.
East Midlands Conference Centre is centrally located in the heart of the UK, in easy reach of Nottingham station, East Midlands Airport and the M1 motorway.
