Next time you stay at the Jurys Inn NewcastleGateshead Quays it is worth bearing in mind that for a small supplement you will stay in a superior river facing room. The hotel is on the banks of the River Tyne with just a river terrace between the hotel and the waterfront. From your room you will have a wonderful view of the new Millennium Bridge and across the Tyne to the Newcastle Quays and the main city centre – and in the morning you can watch the sun rise over the Tyne!

You can walk to Jurys Inn NewcastleGateshead Quays from Newcastle Central Station if you are feeling energetic – and if you know where you are going. Jurys Inn NewcastleGateshead Quays is easy to pinpoint it is right next door to the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art and the Sage Gateshead is only a couple of minutes away – both building are visible virtually from wherever you are in the city. Alternatively it is £7.00 in a taxi or £1.70 on the yellow QuayLink bus which runs from the station passed the hotel. Jurys Inn NewcastleGateshead Quays does have small car park alongside for around 30/35 cars which is complimentary but can be busy.

Jurys Inn NewcastleGateshead Quays is a new hotel which only opened last year. Bedrooms are the Jury’s standard – a good size with a double and a single bed in each room, bathrooms with a bath and  a shower, a multi-channel flat screen television (but no Radio 4!), tea and coffee making facilities and internet access which is chargeable but complimentary if you upgrade to a superior room. The bed was comfortable and I slept like a log.

The names ‘Riverside Restaurant’ and ‘Riverside Bar’ gives you an idea of their location on the ground floor of Jurys Inn NewcastleGateshead Quays and you do get a great view with your food and drink. There are tables set up on the terrace for outdoor wining and dining - weather permitting.

Jurys Inn NewcastleGateshead Quays is a good, modern and relaxed hotel – easy to use with friendly, obliging staff. I used the hotel as a base for exploring the city and it was ideal. Dinner was fine and so was breakfast.
